• HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Wishing everyone a healthy and happy 2021. The picture to the left is David Hood, myself, Ed Greene, and Clayton Ivey, tracking in Muscle Shoals a few weeks ago. We're presently finishing up the overdubs, setting up the cover, and then mix and pressing. We hope to release the second week of February. Please visit our store to preorder the album.

      Recording in Muscle Shoals

We started a campaign to get the new Tony Sarno blues album done in Muscle Shoals, and we want to invite you to be a big part of it. We normally record on a shoestring budget, but we feel that this project is too important to operate that way. We're basically asking people to pre-buy the cd and other merchandise, and in return, you'll be the first to hear the music, and even see the progress. Please click on the picture to the left, and pass it along to anyone else who might like to be a part of it.

      Thunderhawks video shoot

Shooting videos for The Thunderhawks songs "Spirit" and "Punchin' the Clock" in Ringold Georgia on 4th of July weekend. Standing in for Keith Christopher is Michael McLaughlin. Michael sang background vocals on the recording of "Punchin' the clock" and was Tony's long-time guitar tech extraordinaire (Michael....MORE GAIN!).

      The Thunderhawks "One & Done"

The final incarnation of the Thunderhawks first and only album of songs will be released on May 28 on all digital formats. Titled "One & Done", it contains the nine songs written by the band. The songs have been streamlined, and they're finally in the form that producer Tony Sarno had envisioned. Although there are still a few recorded songs still unreleased, this will be the only album by the hard rock band, thus the title "One & Done". It will be available on  ITunes, Apple Music, Spotify, Pandora, and dozens of other download and streaming services.

I'll be interviewing fellow artists, musicians, producers, engineers, songwriters, crew, music biz execs, crew, music teachers, anyone involved in making the music that we all love. Concerts come to a halt!

With no one touring or playing local gigs these days, the only thing we have left is live streaming. We're working on doing some Skype guitar instruction/coaching, and a live Facebook/Instagram/Youtube studio webcam to see how I record sessions and demos, so stay tuned and stay safe. Say hey in our guestbook or email ts@tonysarno.com

      Keith touring with Lynyrd Skynyrd

Our friend and bass player, Keith Christopher, is now playing with Lynyrd Skynyrd. Keith was the founder of The Georgia Satellites and co-founded The Thunderhawks with Tony and played on all of Tony's recordings, starting with "It's a blues thing", and including "The Thunderhawks" and "Tony Sarno" (self-titled). Keith has toured Australia with Tony, and they've played gigs together all over the United States. Keith Christopher is making Skynyrd's farewell tour a really special event, as he's bringing great new energy to that classic American rock band. *Photo- "It's a blues thing" sessions @ Crosstown recorders by Mirjana Antic

Wishing everyone a safe and happy holiday season and I look forward to getting out there and playing for you in the new year.
